The Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) is actively searching for the driver of a Perodua Axia involved in a hit-and-run incident that left a traffic officer injured while on duty along Jalan Sultan Yahya Petra last Friday (10 April).

Kuala Lumpur Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department (JSPT) Chief, Assistant Commissioner Mohd Zamzuri Mohd Isa, stated that the incident occurred at approximately 10:47 PM. The victim, 27-year-old Constable Roslan Salleh, was managing traffic flow within a designated yellow box area when he was struck from behind by a vehicle whose registration number has yet to be identified.

The officer was injured, but the driver did not stop to help or check

Following the collision, the driver fled the scene without stopping to assist the injured officer. Authorities described the act as a serious offence, emphasising motorists’ responsibility to remain at the scene and provide aid after an accident.

As a result of the crash, Constable Roslan sustained injuries, including wounds to his right palm, trauma to the back of his head, and pain in his ribs. He was promptly transported to Hospital Kuala Lumpur by an ambulance from the Malaysian Civil Defence Force (APM) for further medical treatment. His current condition has not been publicly disclosed.
