This is probably the world’s smallest handbag but it certainly cost some big dollars!

On 17 June, a Brooklyn-based creative group named MSCHF posted a series of photos of a microscopic handbag. If you do not know, MSCHF was behind the whole Astro Boy “Big Red Boots” trend and the Lil Nas X Satan Shoes that allegedly has a drop of blood in each pair.

This microscopic handbag is so tiny that you will need a… yes, you guessed it right, a microscope to see the complete design.

“Smaller than a grain of sea salt and narrow enough to pass through the eye of a needle, this is a purse so small you’ll need a microscope to see it.”

It’s in a striking green colour and it bears the iconic Louis Vuitton monogram, however, it is not in any way produced by the brand.

This bag (?) was put on auction on a website named Joopiter and it was sold to someone with a hefty price of USD 63,750 (RM297,553).

According to the description, the bag is made using photopolymer resin and the individual who purchased it will receive it along with a microscope.

Well, that certainly serves to prove that MSCHF’s statement on this bag was true.

“As a once-functional object like a handbag becomes smaller and smaller its object status becomes steadily more abstracted until it is purely a brand signifier.”

What do you think about this? Let us know in the comments.
