“People who say they sleep like a baby usually don’t have one,” psychologist Leo J. Burke once said.

Sleep is such a great reward for adults today because those precious moments of bliss are usually hard to come by! You know, work, stress, juggling between relationships, family, and friends, and more!

Well, a man known as Stanley from Kampung Kalodran, Indonesia wanted to catch up on his rest by taking a nap at around 4pm. However, he was unceremoniously woken up from his afternoon nap by his 8-year-old son, Marcel and 5-year-old daughter, April, The Star reported. This made the man go absolutely berserk.

The crazed man took a hammer and heartlessly beat his wife, Diah, 35, and two children’s head with the tool!

The trio suffered terrible head injuries and Diah desperately cried for help. When neighbours heard their howls for aid, they rushed towards the house. Unfortunately, Stanley didn’t stop there. As nearby residents tried to help the injured lady and kids, Stanley went out of his house and started smashing cars and neighbours’ windows with the hammer.

The enraged Stanley kept on smashing whatever was in his way and it took a bunch of villagers to actually stop him.

Harahap, the village head, told reporters,

“The villagers grouped up and caught the man before handing him over to the police.”

Diah, Marcel and April were immediately brought to the hospital and are being treated for serious head injuries. So far, there are no updates on their well-being.

Stanley, on the other hand, is under police custody for further investigation.

It was said that there are several factors that could’ve triggered Stanley into berserk mode. He could have been going through tremendous stress, or he could have been sleep deprived. Regardless, these aren’t excuses to hurt anyone. It is always important for us to keep our temper in check and be more logical.
