Recent videos of a shocking incident have been making the rounds online, showing a security staff member in a heated argument with a tenant after being approached while on duty at his post at a condominium along Jalan Ipoh in Sentul, Kuala Lumpur.

According to Sentul District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Ahmad Sukarno Mohd Zahari, before the victim was found unconscious, he had been approached by a male tenant who asked for help to get to another block at around 5 AM.

The suspect was arrested later that same day

Ahmad Sukarno said the victim refused the request as he wasn’t allowed to leave his post, which led the suspect to become aggressive and physically attack the security staff member, Harian Metro reported.

The victim later sought treatment at Kuala Lumpur Hospital (HKL), where he was diagnosed with soft tissue injuries to the head.

“The suspect slapped the victim’s left cheek, punched his forehead, and stepped on his body and legs,” he said.

Ahmad Sukarno added that no external injuries were found, and the victim was allowed to return home. Later that same day, a 32-year-old man was arrested at around 4:30 PM and remanded for four days to assist in investigations under Section 324 of the Penal Code and Section 36 of the Arms Act 1960.

The victim died of a heart attack following the incident

However, Ahmad Sukarno said that around 9:30 PM that same day, the victim was found unconscious at his home in Jalan Ipoh before his wife called for an ambulance.

“Health officers later confirmed that the victim had died, and his body was taken to HKL for a post-mortem. The autopsy found that he died of a heart attack, and investigations are still ongoing,” he said.

A local news outlet also reported that the victim, who had earlier lodged a police report about the incident, claimed his attacker had brandished a pistol.

The same report mentioned that the family of the 54-year-old victim is now urging authorities to provide more details regarding the firearm aspect of the investigation.
