A former flight attendant who lost her job due to the Covid-19 pandemic allegedly committed suicide after finding out that her boyfriend already had a girlfriend.

According to China Press, the 27-year-old flight attendant from Hong Kong became unemployed last year (2020) and would spend time online to pass time. In August, she met a 37-year-old man through social networking sites, and the two soon fell in love.

The woman’s boyfriend owns a fitness centre at Wah Fung Industrial Centre, 33 Kwai Fung Street, Kwai Chung with a friend. She would often do her workouts there and meet her boyfriend there from time to time.

One day, she discovered that her boyfriend already had a girlfriend, and was shocked that she had become a third party in the relationship.

On 10 April, Dim Sum Daily reported that the woman went to the fitness centre alone and used an aerial yoga strap to hang herself. She was discovered by staff at 3pm the next day and the incident was reported to the police.
