Grandfather in Terengganu Arrested After Allegedly Raping 5yo Granddaughter Multiple Times

An elderly man has been remanded for seven days to assist in the investigation of allegations that he raped his five-year-old granddaughter in Kemaman last Wednesday.

The remand order for the 62-year-old suspect was granted by Magistrate Nur Amira Fatihah Osman at the Dungun Magistrate’s Court today.

Kemaman District Police Chief, Superintendent Mohd Razi Rosli, said the suspect was arrested at his home in Chukai, Kemaman at around 7:45 PM yesterday.

Victim suffered injuries to her private parts

He said the victim was initially taken for a hospital check-up after complaining of pain in her private parts.

“The victim’s mother noticed redness on her daughter’s private parts before referring her to the hospital.”

“A medical specialist confirmed signs of tearing on the victim’s private parts, and the child also recounted the rape incident,” he said when contacted by Kosmo! today.

“Investigations revealed that the incident is believed not to be the first time, as there were signs of old tears on the victim’s private parts,” he added.

He stated that the latest incident is believed to have occurred in a bushy area by the roadside between 12 PM and 1 PM last week.

The case is being investigated under Section 376(3) of the Penal Code.
