Some of us are huge fans of lamb meat, and one of the world’s most renowned cooks, Gordon Ramsay, also made it clear that he is among the fans of the meat.
Recently however, Gordon took to his TikTok account and shared a video of him making an ‘appearance’ at a lamb pen to pick his slaughter of the day. In the 28-seconds clip, Gordon cheekily entered the pen and climbed over the fence before expressing his wish to eat the lamb.
‘Yum yum yum, who’s gonna go into the oven first? You!’ Gordon pointed at one of the lambs.
Some vegans have expectedly expressed their dissatisfaction over the video, but it has recently made headlines when People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) got their eyes on the video, which did not sit well with them.
According to INSIDER, PETA is calling the chef’s kids to turn vegan and disown their father. PETA UK Vice President Elisa Allen had something to say about the TikTok clip.
‘Gordon Ramsay is a callous man who makes a fool of himself,” she said.
Elisa also said that the act of intimidating gentle lambs is rude and nowhere near amusing.
‘Those lambs are just babies who want little from life but the chance to live it and not end up in this moron’s — or anyone else’s — mouth.”
In the caption of his video, Gordon said ‘The lamb sauce was still not found in the making of this video,‘ an indication that no lambs were actually cooked in the making of the TikTok video.
Regardless, the Michelin-starred chef has yet to respond to PETA’s statement. You can watch the clip here.
While the lamb is certainly on the menu in our food chain, do you think Gordon Ramsay is wrong for picking a lamb to the slaughter? Or do you think PETA has gone too far with their statement?
