An 11-year-old boy sustained injuries to his head and hand, believed to have been beaten by his father simply because he made warm coffee.

Melaka Tengah District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Christopher Patit, said a police report was lodged by the victim’s mother, who is also a tuition teacher, at 9:11 pm at the Tanjung Minyak Police Station yesterday.

According to him, based on the report, the woman discovered her son had been beaten after she returned to their home in Taman Cheng Baru at 10:30 pm last Wednesday.

“The woman found her son’s head bandaged. Her husband told her he had hit the boy because the child had lied.”

“The victim suffered head injuries and bruises on his left hand,” he said when contacted today.

It is understood that the man acted in such a way because his son allegedly did not make the coffee using hot water as instructed. When questioned, the boy tried to make excuses, which angered the father, who then threw a chair at the child.
