Customers & a Vendor at Johor Pasar Malam Get into Physical Fight Over Dissatisfaction with Prices

A viral video shows a physical fight among 3 men at a night market in Johor Bahru 2 nights before Chinese New Year.

In the video, the men were seen shouting and pointing fingers at each other before the situation escalated and got physical. The video, which was posted in the Facebook group sharing is caring 新马直播和买卖群(机王团队) shares no information about the fight.

In an official statement by PDRM in Johor, the police said 2 men in the video have been arrested.

Both suspects were aged between 21 to 28 and the fight, which happened around 11:30 PM on January 27 (Monday) was caused by the dissatisfaction between both parties, the customers, and the vendor about the price of the items.

Another suspect in his 30s, believed to be one of the customers is still being hunted by the police. Both arrested suspects also tested negative for drugs.

“The case is being investigated under Section 160 of the Penal Code for public disturbance, Section 323 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt, and Section 506 of the Penal Code for criminal intimidation.”

Earlier, a 1-minute and 41-second video went viral on social media, showing three individuals fighting while a woman was seen attempting to ease the situation.
