If you haven’t already heard, the annual Perseid meteor shower will be happening in the early hours of Sunday (13th August) at about 12.30 am, according to The Star.

The best part? No matter where you are in the country, you will be able to catch a glimpse of this beautiful phenomenon lighting up the night sky!

Of course, you’ll need to go out of the city for a clearer view, without all that light pollution getting in the way. Hence, here are some amazing spots near Selangor where you can go stargazing this weekend.

Kuala Kubu Bharu (affectionately known as ‘KKB’) is a small town near Fraser’s Hill. The Sungai Selangor Dam is located in this quiet little town, which has a beautiful view of the night sky and a lake with crystal clear water. Due to its relatively remote location, it’s the perfect spot to park and gaze at meteors flying through the night sky.

2. Broga Hill

If you’re up for it, you can even camp out at the top of the hill and wait for the gorgeous sunrise, too!

5. Bukit Tabur

Many know Bukit Tabur to be an ideal hiking spot, but did you know it’s also a perfect place to go out stargazing? Bukit Tabur takes about an hour-long hike to reach the top, but the view is undoubtedly worth it.

With a choice of either East or West hills, your view of the night sky will definitely be amazing when you reach the top, no matter which side you pick. Be careful when hiking, though! We’ve heard this particular hill can be pretty slippery on your way down!

So, now that you know of some spots to visit for the perfect view of the Perseid meteor shower, we’re sure your weekend plans have been sorted! You’re welcome! 😉
