Just a couple of weeks ago, it was reported that the heat wave we’re currently experiencing will last until August, and that it’ll cause haze in certain areas.

Now, we’re seeing more and more on how the heat wave is effecting our fellow Malaysians.

According to a post by BERNAMA, the heat wave has caused a river in Kuala Krai, Kelantan, to be almost completely dried up, with fishes from the river dead and sticking to the ground.

They wrote, “A fish carcass was found in a dry puddle due to the hot weather during a survey in Kampung Pasir Era, Kuala Krai, Kelantan, today (April 28). The long, hot weather not only caused the soil to become dry and cracked, but also takes a toll on people’s daily lives.”

The Department of Meteorology Malaysia (MET Malaysia) had previously shared that hot weather is occurring in the country, especially in the Peninsula of Malaysia and it has since shown an increase in temperature of between 35 to 37 degrees Celsius, which is at a Level 1 (Alert) status.

“The hot weather conditions are expected to continue for a relatively long period, for example until August following the monsoon transition season,” they added.

That’s honestly a really long time for the people to have to endure a heat wave. Hence, we urge everyone to remain safe and to drink as much plain water as possible to stay hydrated during this tough time.

What do you think about this? Do feel free to share your thoughts in the comment section.
