It appears that Malaysian football fans may never learn.

We’ve seen time and time again, how local football fans fight and cause a riot after a match between the teams they support. And it seems like this behaviour will never come to an end.

Kosmo Online recently took to their Facebook page to showcase yet another riot, this time between Perak FC fans and Penang FC fans outside of the Stadium Bandaraya, Georgetown, following the final match of the Malaysia Super League 2023.

Riot 1

They wrote, “A commotion believed to involve supporters of Perak FC and Penang FC after the end of the Malaysia Super League 2023 match at Stadium Bandaraya, Georgetown, on April 1.”

This incident allegedly took place after the game at about 12:30am.

According to a report by Astro Awani, 3 people have since been arrested for their involvement in the riot.

Riot 2

Timur Laut District Police Chief Soffian Santong shared that the local men who were arrested were between the ages of 20 to 23 and no drugs were found in their systems. Though, one among them has a previous criminal record.

“All of them were released on police bail after completing the interrogation, but the police are actively tracking other individuals involved,” he added.

This case is now being investigated under Section 147 of the Penal Code for rioting.
