A couple of months back, the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) shared that they will tighten the entry control into stadiums for football matches following the massive riot that took the lives of 174 football fans in Indonesia.

Though it is unknown as to whether they really tightened control over the crowds, for if they did, it’s not exactly fruitful.

Yet another riot took place last night (November 21), as Terengganu fans assaulted the Selangor team and surrounded the Stadium Sultan Mizan Kuala Terengganu, disallowing Selangor fans from leaving. Among those who were stuck in the stadium was Kang Pasad, who shared videos of the incident on Twitter.

He wrote, “As per usual. Got surrounded after the game ended. This time, it got a little violent.”

This comes after the Terengganu team had lost to the Selangor team, 2-3.

The Johor Cyber Community Facebook page too showcased footage of the incident, where Terengganu fans could be seen throwing rocks, cones and all kinds of things at the Selangor FC bus as they left the scene, despite the fact that there were police officers escorting the bus.

On top of that, the Terengganu fans also started a flare-like fire outside the stadium.

What makes this more concerning is the fact this happened despite the heavy police presence at the scene. We genuinely hope that the authorities put in proper measures and enforce it to prevent incidents like this from happening again.
