If you are the kind of person who plans your day around your meals or survey a restaurant’s menu the day before you go, you know the heartache of anticipating a particular dish but ending up not getting to enjoy it.

This man in Old Klang Road definitely knows because he made sure everyone knew too!

Last Sunday (October 16), police arrested a man after he threw a tantrum at a restaurant because the food was sold out.

Brickfields District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Amihizam Abdul Shukor said the suspect arrived at the restaurant in Taman Sri Sentosa on Sunday at 1.40am and wanted to order food.

However, the restaurant worker informed the suspect that the food had sold out, which infuriated him.

Unsatisfied with what the restaurant worker said, he started to cause a commotion by throwing items in the restaurant.

In a viral video of a CCTV footage of the restaurant, the man can be seen pushing tubs of what appears to be food onto the floor.

He also overturned multiple tables, making a mess of the premise before leaving the restaurant.

“The public informed members of the Petaling Police Station’s Sector 27 Motorcycle Patrol Unit (URB) who were on a follow-up patrol that the suspect was near Surau Al-Akhlaqiah,” said Amihizam.

“During the arrest, the suspect acted aggressively and tried to escape. However, we finally got him at Flat Petaling Utama, Jalam PJS 1/52, Petaling Jaya,” he said in a media statement.

He said the suspect was charged in the Kuala Lumpur Magistrate’s Court under Section 427 of the Penal Code yesterday and pleaded guilty. He was fined RM1,000 or two months’ jail.

The heartache is real, but not an excuse to mess up someone’s restaurant.
