A Malaysian man recently discussed his experiences working as a delivery driver in Australia, the land down under.

The man, who goes by the name of Razlan has reportedly been working in Australia for about six months, according to Sin Chew Daily. He is currently 30 years old and makes roughly RM43,000 a month from his work as a delivery partner.

He claimed in an interview that Australia has a better organised and productive work culture, making it simpler to make a livable salary. He noted that for his wage options, he had two options:

  • Contract basis with commission
  • Hourly wage

“I chose the contract basis wage system and I get commission for completing each delivery. In Australia, they’re not very particular about your work experiences or educational qualifications,” he said.

He added that:

“My salary is not fixed because it depends on how many deliveries I’m able to complete. But usually, I’d get around $8,000AUD (RM24,597.60) to $10,400AUD (RM43,075.80).

“Living costs in Australia are relatively low and it’s generally pretty safe here. With inflation happening around the globe, it’s not hitting us as hard, and (our employers) would also give us a raise as well.”

What do you think of Razlan’s choice of starting a new life in a new country?
