Punctuality is one of the most important things regardless of which industry you’re in. It’s always better to be early than late for your appointment and leave the other party waiting.

Recently, on his Twitter account,  a netizen shared his experience of having to wait at least an extra 30 minutes at a Health Clinic in Kuantan, Pahang.

He explained in his tweet that he had an appointment with the nurses for the vaccination of his 3-month-old baby at 8 am. He registered at the counter at 7:55 am and 15 minutes later, the nurses reached. However, at 8:16 am, they went out again.

He continued waiting and at 8:30am, the 2 nurses returned with their breakfast.

“30 minutes spent on waiting alone,” he said.

Fortunately, his appointment was settled by 9:15am and he then sent the health clinic a friendly reminder.

“I hope the clinic will be able to respect the time of others, especially babies and pregnant mothers.”

He also revealed in his tweet that there were other patients who had been waiting for their appointments and he was unsure how long were they waiting for.

“Please be ON TIME”

His tweet gained the attention of other netizens. Their reactions, however, were mixed. Part of them could actually relate and even shared their previous experiences with nurses at different health clinics.

“They also have this need to stare at you at times. They even play with their phones while asking for your IC. Where are their manners?”

“By the time of the appointment, they should already be at their desks. Breakfast should’ve been settled earlier. Start your work ON TIME. My parents were both civil servants. They would have their breakfasts while working if they couldn’t have it earlier.

What do you expect?

In the meantime, some netizens think that given the cheap fee that was paid, he shouldn’t have complained too much about the timing.

“They are humans too. RM1. What do you expect? Be considerate? I had to wait too at private hospitals. Who are the nurses going to rant to about their hunger?”

“Want faster service? Go to private hospitals. Service is free and you’re expecting a better service? What kind of mentality is this? It’s like you’re getting an RM5 Grab car but expecting a Vellfire.”

Do you think the fee of these services should justify the waiting time? Or do you think punctuality is important in every sector regardless of the fee?
