How nice would it be if our grievances were given the time of day? Recently, one lucky netizen thanked the police for helping her get her phone back after it was stolen. However, it appears that is not always the case. It can be a bummer to find out that you have been wronged, and sometimes when it feels like nobody is on your side, anger and frustration can take over.

This is what happened to a Malaysian who purchased a new phone but apparently later found out that he had been sold a second-hand phone instead.

In a 10-minute video shared in the Facebook group 我们是马来西亚人 We are Malaysians, the man is seen confronting a sales lady about his purchase.

Sales Lady Checks Phone

He claimed that the phone is not brand new, as according to him it looks like as if the phone has gone through repairs, citing dried glue on the side which was apparently used to put the phone back together.

Faulty Phone

The sales lady recommended that the man go to the phone brand’s centre to request for a replacement under the warranty as the store was unable replace the phone for him due to store policies. This was the last straw for the man who claimed that a customer service representative of the phone’s brand, had asked him to settle the issue with the electronics shop.

Furious and frustrated at having his problem passed back and forth, he proceeded to throw his phone onto the ground repeatedly.

He also shouted at the shop staff for wasting his time and for their poor customer service.

Clear 1

Both parties are wrong

The general consensus is that while the shop and phone company should be held accountable for the incident, there was no need for the customer to act the way he did.

Some recalled past experiences with bad customer service at similar electronic shops where responsibility was pushed around.

Past

Others advised the man to control his anger as it is unproductive to do so.

“Problem not solved, handphone is really broken- there’s no way to claim a new phone or warranty…”

“Sometimes when we’re raging, we really need to calm down. Otherwise there are things said and done which cannot be undone”, added the user.

Dont Angry
