According to Senior Education Minister Datuk Dr. Mohd. Radzi, the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) examination will remain as scheduled, with standard operating procedures implemented to curb the spread of the Covid-19 virus among students and teachers.

He said, although there was a significant rise in the new Covid-19 cases recently, the number of patients involving categories four and five was small.

Besides, the ministry of education is committed to ensuring all SOPs continued to be complied with, like SPM 2020 last year. He also said that the situation now is different as more than 90 per cent of Form 5 students are fully vaccinated.

As of yesterday (12 February 2022), there are 22,802 new Covid-19 cases, with most of them being categories 1 and 2.

Dr Mohd Radzi also encouraged the parents to register their children aged between 5 to 11 to obtain the vaccine via the Covid-19 Children’s Immunisation Program (PICKids).

The SPM examinations will begin on 2 March and end on 29 March.
