After more than a year of fighting the pandemic, some people are still violating the SOPs by endangering the lives of others.

Just recently, Covid-19 cases were detected among Langkawi-bound tourists at the air and sea entryway to the island after they opened their doors for domestic travelling.

Astro Awani reported that as many as 523 check-ins on the MySejahtera application involving people who are Covid-19 positive or high-risk individuals ordered to undergo their Home Supervision Order (HSO) were spotted in Kedah last week. Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin has since brought this issue to the attention of Kedah’s Chief Minister.

Check In

Additionally, those 523 check-ins also involved high-risk individuals who are supposedly not allowed to enter any premises. Khairy added that 18% of the total check-ins were detected in supermarkets. Consequently, he urged the owners of the premises to tighten their supervision at the entrances, reported The Edge Markets

“If the positive individuals managed to enter the premises, it means the security guards are simply letting them in without checking properly.”

The identities of the people who flouted the HSO order have been identified and actions will be taken soon by the state’s Health Department.

In the meantime, Khairy stated that attention should be given to several districts that are still recording low vaccination rates, especially Baling and Pendang districts. More than 180,000 teenagers in Kedah will also receive their first jabs starting today (20 September) and the vaccination process is expected to be completed within a month.

Teenagers Vaccine

If you are infected with Covid-19 or if you are a high-risk individual that has undergone home quarantine, please stay home to avoid spreading the virus to others!
