It’s officers like these that restore our faith in the justice system!

Getting fines during the Movement Control Order (MCO) period has been a norm and unfortunately, many of us have gotten used to seeing Malaysians contesting their fines on social media. However, among these interactions, one Malaysian recounted how he had a wholesome experience with a kind PDRM officer.

Facebook user Austin Liew shared how this was the first time he was happy to receive a fine as the summon was issued by a police officer with such integrity and a good attitude.

PDRM Officer: Hello, sir, have you had your lunch yet? Did you know you were speeding?

Austin: I know, sorry officer.

PDRM Officer: You need to say sorry to the people who care about you. If you drive this fast and an accident happens, wouldn’t they be sad? To make sure you remember this, I will be issuing you a fine. Are you okay?

Austin: Okay.

PDRM Officer: The fine has been issued. Remember, we have a 50% discount on fines which can be paid until July. Remember not to drive so fast next time and drive carefully okay?

Speaking to WORLD OF BUZZ, Austin said the whole interaction genuinely meant a lot to him as it changed his perception towards police officers immediately. “I’m so grateful that our nation has a responsible policeman like him,” he said.

He also added how he appreciates what all the PDRM officers have been doing and hopes the officer he met becomes a role model to other officers as well.
