Just a day after appearing in court to plead not guilty to charges of SOP flouting, Neelofa is currently in hot water AGAIN.

This time, it’s because she flouted the SOPs during her appearance in court to plead not guilty to flouting the SOPs.

According to BERNAMA, she is now under investigation for not wearing a face mask underneath her veil, when she appeared at the Seremban Magistrate’s Court yesterday, 20 May.

Seremban district chief of police, ACP Mohd Said Ibrahim shared that an investigation under Section 269 of the Penal Code [Act 574] and Regulation 17 (1) of the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases (Measures in Local Areas of Infection) Regulations 2021 [PU (A) 225/2021], has been opened following Neelofa’s courthouse appearance.

“This includes (application of face mask SOP) for those who are fully or half-veiled,” he said.

In a tweet by the Ministry of Health Malaysia (KKM), they confirmed that those in veils must wear an appropriate face mask underneath it.

They wrote, “Veiled women are also required to wear face masks, whether medical or non-medical (three layers of fabric as recommended by WHO).”

Neelofa previously faced one charge of failing to register with the MySejahtera application, while her husband, PU Riz, faced two charges, namely, failing to register with the MySejahtera app or manually and for failing to wear a face mask in a public place.

They both received fines totalling RM15,000.
