Covid-19 has affected lots of industries and one of the most hard-hit ones is the aviation industry. Borders are not open as of now and airplanes are only running for people who have commitments overseas but not for casual travellers.

This has, of course, caused a loss in revenue for airlines across the world. In order to keep the business afloat, Thai Airways has set up a restaurant simulating an airplane flight in several of their offices.

In addition to that, they are now adding freshly-fried cakoi to their menu!

This is currently in practice at the Thai Airways Ticketing office located on Silom Road, Bangkok. Their roadside stall is located right outside the office and the people frying the cakoi are the staff from the Thai Airways caterer aided by the airline company’s staff.

The mini cakois comes with a dip and they are sold every Monday to Friday starting from 6.30am onwards. After trying out the fried pastries, many customers have come back for more, resulting in a queue for it every morning. Netizens have said that they went there at 8am but it has already been sold out!

According to one of the posts from the Thai Airways Catering, people can go to the staff-canteen-turned-restaurant on the second floor to have their rumoured best in the world airplane meals. Delivery is also an option!

This is certainly a very good way to boost up revenue as everyone needs to eat. Also, their cakoi looks super light, airy and crisp!
