In his press conference today, Defence Minister, Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri had some important updates regarding the Recovery Movement Control Order.

In this fast-paced world, it’s almost impossible to keep track of everything, so if you missed some of the points, not to worry! We have all the important stuff summarised for you here below:

1. Tourism subsector will be re-opening on the 1st of July

Kl

MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferencing, Exhibitions) for travel and trade fair will now be allowed to be conducted. As per usual, there will be SOPs present including a 250-person limit to the number of attendees allowed, with consideration placed on the size of the event space.

The organisers are responsible for making sure social distancing is maintained. They also have to ensure visitors have to register with the MySejahtera app and subsequently record their temperatures.

2. Spas, reflexology & massage centres will be allowed to operate starting on the 1st of July

Before re-opening these centres must check and register with PBT (local authorities) first. The SOPs for these centres include registering customers before entering, taking their temperatures before they enter the premise and ensuring both employees and customers are wearing masks. Each centre is also to be equipped with hand sanitiser dispensers.

The workers at the establishments must be screened for Covid-19. Another thing to note is that workers at the centres MUST be Malaysians.

3. Foreign ambassadors and workers at the ambassador offices can perform their Friday prayers at the mosque starting on the 3rd of July

5. Tuition centres, private schools and special education schools can now re-open
