Similar to most countries, Malaysia has also banned the entry of foreigners to contain the Covid-19 pandemic. With the relaxations offered in the Conditional Movement Control Order, many wondered if this would allow the entry of foreigners into the country again. However, the government is still firm in its decision to not allow the entry of foreigners, especially through air travel.

Defence Minister, Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri confirmed today that they wouldn’t be allowing AirAsia Indonesia to land at KLIA and Senai International Airport as well.

Harian Metro reported that the minister said that the policy still stands regarding the entry of foreigners. “They can only bring Malaysian citizens from Indonesia or any other countries,” he said. The SOP for those who are returning from overseas is still the same where they will have to be quarantined for 14 days.

“So for AirAsia Indonesia I also think they need to comply with the government’s directive.”
