Surgical masks are the most sought after commodity during this global pandemic and many countries have enforced the wearing of masks whenever their citizens go out in public.

This is to reduce the risk of the spreading of droplets if a person were to cough or sneeze and to generally protect us from breathing in any infected particles in the air. This is especially important because there are many people with the Covid-19 virus that are asymptomatic and are unknowingly spreading the virus to the people they meet.

However, one woman from the United States thought it would be a brilliant idea to cut a hole in the middle of her mask as she claimed that it could help her breathe easier.

The video was captured by @joegotti96 on TikTok in Lexington, Kentucky. Working as a petrol station clerk at S J Food Mart, the man managed to film the woman who entered the shop with a giant hole in her mask.

He asked her, “Where did you get that mask from?”

She replied, “Well, since we have to wear them and it makes it hard to breathe, this makes it a lot easier to breathe.”

The guy then asks, “Cutting it? Yeah, I’ll do that too, thanks for the advice,” as the woman leaves the store.

The video has since garnered five MILLION views, about 10,000 comments and about 910,000 likes on TikTok.

Well, while this was quite a funny scene to watch, we hope this woman wasn’t sick!
