The Wuhan virus outbreak is spreading rapidly, infecting more and more people all over the world. Hospitals in China are so crowded that there isn’t enough room for patients while doctors and nurses are on their feet 24/7.

Seeing how hectic hospitals have become, an 86-year-old doctor decided to offer his services to the Wuhan Children’s Hospital while being in a wheelchair.

According to Oriental Daily, Professor Dong is a pediatrician who retired a long tome ago, but decided to start working again as he says he still can go on.

Beginning last year, he started having some difficulty breathing while walking, but that didn’t stop him as he bought a wheelchair so he could still come to work.

Now, ever since Wuhan shut down on Thursday (23rd January), Professor Dong diligently comes to tend to the patients even though the Wuhan outbreak has become very serious. He said that he is so used to tending to patients that this is “just another job”.

He also added that he consults walk-in patients and also helps treat patients in other departments as patients with serious illness will come and look for him.

From seeing patients only once a week, he attended to more than 30 patients on Thursday (23rd January) itself when the situation in the hospital was hectic.

We have to praise this grandpa for offering his services during this epidemic outbreak. He can easily enjoy his retirement but still chooses to help others. Hopefully grandpa stays safe!
