Malaysians are a very generous bunch as we are known to give alms and handouts to those in need.

Understanding this fact, many out there have turned our generosity into a business, whereby our sincerity is manipulated for the personal gain of others.

Sporting a religious headdress and robes normally associated with Muslims, one man was caught in the act by a fellow netizen who began questioning him about basic Islamic understandings that almost any Muslim would know.

Shared by Facebook page Mynewshub, here are several videos of the interrogation.

In the Facebook post, Mynewshub writes, “I am confused with this kid. A Muslim would know right off the bat how many raka’ah there are in prayer.

“For those questioning my intentions, know that my interrogation was for the purpose of revealing that this person is nothing more than an impersonator.”

“He is giving a bad name to Muslims and the Tahfiz Institution.”

The incident which was believed to have taken place in Kulai, Johor, the man was questioned about how many raka’ah are in an Asr prayer.

After answering two raka’ah (instead of four raka’ah) that’s when the netizen knew that the man was nothing more than an impersonator.

After succumbing to tears, knowing what lies ahead for him, the video ends with the netizen forcing him to answer truthfully or risk his freedom for failing to do so.

On a positive note, it is good to know that no form of violence took place for the duration of the video.

In situations like this, we feel that the authorities would probably know best as to what form of justice will be served.

Let’s hope that this video will serve as a lesson to others out there looking to make a quick buck out of other people’s generosity.
