7yo Boy Witnesses Father’s Tragic Death After a 14yo Rider Crashes Into Their Motorcycle in Selangor

A 29-year-old father tragically died after the motorcycle he was on was hit by another rider. His 7-year-old son who was riding pillion survived but suffered injuries.

According to an official statement by PDRM in Hulu Selangor, the other rider who crashed into the father and son was only 14 years old and carried no rider’s license.

The father leaves behind a pregnant wife, his injured son, and 2 other kids at home.

The police said the accident took place last night (January 6) around 8:50 PM at a three-way intersection, where the deceased father was riding his motorcycle home with his son seated behind him before he collided with another motorcycle ridden by the teenage rider, with another passenger of the same age.

The father died on the spot while his 7-year-old son suffered minor injuries. Both were sent to the Kuala Kubu Bharu Hospital for autopsy and treatment, respectively. As for the teenagers, they were sent to the Selayang Hospital for treatment, as both suffered facial injuries and the teenage rider broke his leg.

Both motorcycles were seized by the police for investigation.

The Chief Police of Hulu Selangor District, Superintendant Ahmad Faizal Bin Tahrim said the police are currently investigating the matter under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 – reckless or dangerous driving that causes death. 

Police also urged the public to come forward with relevant information if they had witnessed the accident.
