A 15-year-old illegal rider recently performed the wheelie stunt on the road and happily shared the video online. Apart from views and likes, the teen also got something else – a visit from the police.

In a statement by PDRM’s traffic department in Hilir Perak, police said the teen was nabbed at his house in the vicinity of the People’s Housing Program (PPR) Flats in Teluk Intan at 5 PM on Monday (August 26).

How did the police find the young man?

Thanks to public information and some undercover work, the police managed to locate the viral teen who performed the dangerous stunt on KM 1 Jalan Changkat Jong, Teluk Intan, Perak.

The 15-year-old was then brought to the police station in Hilir Perak for further action, and the matter is being investigated under Section 42(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for riding on a public road dangerously and recklessly.

If found guilty, a person can be fined not less than RM5,000 and not more than RM15,000, as well as face jail time of not more than 5 years.

Anyone who is found guilty under this section will also have their license revoked and prohibited from retaking the license for 5 years.

“We will not compromise with anyone who is involved with misconducts related to driving and riding. Prevention is better than cure.”

We hope this will serve as a reminder to all illegal riders out there.Ā
