A 12-year-old girl ran away from home after allegedly being beaten by her father at their house in Kepong, Kuala Lumpur, recently.
Earlier reports revealed that the girl was reported missing on Saturday (4 October) before being found by members of the public at a shop in Metro Prima, Kepong.

The victim was later taken to Kuala Lumpur Hospital (HKL) for a check-up, where doctors found bruises under her lips, scratches on her back, and pain in her head.
Kuala Lumpur Police Chief Datuk Fadil Marsus said a 42-year-old suspect has been remanded for four days, from 5 October until tomorrow (8 October).
According to the Malaysia Gazette, the girl had run away after the suspect allegedly beat her for not cleaning the kitchen and washing the dishes.

Suspect has no prior criminal record
Fadil added that the investigation paper will be completed before being referred to the Deputy Public Prosecutor (DPP) for further action.
“Investigations found that the man acted that way because the child didn’t wash the dishes or clean the kitchen. Checks also revealed that the suspect, who works as a plumber, has no prior criminal record,” he said.
The case is being investigated under Section 31(1)(a) of the Child Act 2001.
