On Friday (19 April), Ms Puiyi took to her social media accounts to announce the press conference and invited media practitioners to attend, though she didn’t reveal in the post what the press conference was about.

As reported by Harian Metro, the 25-year-old model said that she has filed a civil suit against her former business partner, a 29-year-old man known as ‘Mentos’, who is also a former board of director member in Ms Puiyi’s company PY Empire Sdn Bhd.

In the press conference at Georgetown, Penang, Ms Puiyi added that the man had deceived her into giving him a sum of money which he claimed was for settling tax arrears to the Inland Revenue Board of Malaysia (LHDN).

Ms Puiyi added that she was cheated of the sum of money and filed this civil suit so that she could reclaim the money.

She said that ‘Mentos’ used to oversee human resources matters in her company and where to invest the company’s funds.

A police report has also been lodged in relation to the matter at the Timur Laut District Police Headquarters in Penang on 24 October last year.
