These days, con artists are everywhere, with wild, new tactics to trick people out of giving them money.

Unfortunately, the latest victim of a con man is Uncle Kentang, after one of his staff members had fallen for the man’s ruse as an air-conditioner repair man.

Uncle Kentang took to his Facebook page, Chee Heng Kuan, to share the incident which took place at his cafe in Puchong, while also allowing the con man a chance to right his wrong by returning the money to him.

He wrote, “Con man on the prowl. Bukit Puchong. He told my girl that I asked her to pay him RM300 for aircond compressor work. WE DID NOT DO ANY AIRCOND WORK.”

“He pretended to speak to my manager on the phone and told my staff that my manager has approved the payment. He told my staff that my manager had asked for a discount and RM2oo was agreed upon. My staff promptly gave him RM200.”

Return the money or go to jail!

Uncle Kentang went on to ask the general public to reach out to him should they know the identity of the con man.

He also gave the con man a chance to step forward and repent for his wrongdoing by returning the money.

“Do you know him? My brother, my number is 012-2732148. If you have cheated my cafe, I’ll give you my account number, 7015170449 (CIMB Bank, Kuan Chee Heng),”

“Please return the money or else if I bump into you, I’ll make sure you’ll masuk dalam (go to jail),” he added.

At least he’s giving the man a chance to see the errors of his ways.
