We love seeing Members of Parliament, whom we’ve voted for go down to the ground and serve their constituents to their utmost best, such as the case for Puchong MP Yeo Bee Yin.

In here recent visit, to SK Puchong Utama 1, she was shocked to find out that kids going to the school are made to sit on their canteen floor due to the limited number of tables and chairs.

“They sit on the floor to eat!”

“Kids sit on the floor? And they eat on the floor too?”

Understanding that Bee Yin was frustrated at the situation, teachers meeting the MP explained: “During recess, a total of 300 students will be at the canteen.”

“We do not have adequate tables and chairs, so they have to sit here en mass.”

So, what happened after that? Voila, within two weeks the problem was solved as the MP was spotted with a bunch of new tables and benches for the schoolchildren to use.

In the caption she wrote, “Don’t worry, Kak Bee Yin will make sure that the welfare of kids in Puchong will be taken care of.”

Let’s hope that stories like this will inspire those who represent us to get with the program and start serving those who voted for them not just for the sake of re-election.
