When it comes to marriage, it’s important to note that your partner becomes your family, and that they should be treated with respect. That being said, it’s essential to make sure that your partner gets equal treatment and a monthly allowance to sustain a quality life.

Just recently, a woman shared her experience on a Facebook page. In her post, she mentioned that she’s been married for over 3 years and is a stay home mum.

“We’ve been married for over 3 years and recently he told me that his mother would get $50,000TWD (RM 7,158) monthly while I only get $5,000TWD (RM700),” she wrote.

“He told me that even his bank booklet is kept by my mother-in-law, and I truly feel like I’m in disbelief.”

Her husband later revealed that the reason he gives about $50,000TWD (RM 7,158) to his mother is because she has set a rule which would help him save up.

She expressed that she feels upset that her husband has been hiding this from her and her husband is now asking her to be considerate towards his mother.

She then ended the post saying, “He said he has to continue giving $50,000TWD (RM7,158) to his mother while I get $5,000TWD (RM700) as our monthly allowance and baby expenses will have to be covered by me.”

“What am I to him? Is this what marriage is like? Or was I scammed? Am I just a machine to ‘produce’ babies? “

While being filial to your parents is a must, it’s good to also adjust according to your needs and make sure that your wife and kids are not neglected.
