“We’re proud of it” – AirAsia Bags the Title of World’s Best Low-Cost Airline for the 15th Consecutive Year

AirAsia recently clinched the title of World’s Best Low-Cost Airline at the Skytrax World Airline Awards, known as the Oscars of the aviation industry, marking an impressive 15th consecutive year of winning the award!

At the award ceremony in London, Capital A CEO Tony Fernandes highlighted that Skytrax upholds global standards for airline quality and excellence.

“We’re incredibly proud of it”

Tony expressed his excitement about continuing to serve millions more this year with top-notch quality at the best prices.

“We are thrilled to have achieved this milestone for the 15th consecutive year. I can’t think of any other company with such a consistent winning streak, and we’re incredibly proud of it. This award is dedicated to all our Allstars who work tirelessly to make this possible and to everyone who has remained loyal to us through the highs and lows of AirAsia’s journey.”

AirAsia emphasises that its team is made up of thousands of dreamers, all united by the vision of making air travel accessible to everyone.

Since its founding, the airline has been dedicated to staying ahead of the curve, boldly redefining and democratising air travel, and it’s inspiring to see the industry’s growth over the years.

“Thanks to Skytrax, this incredible accolade is a testament to what makes us the world’s best, our 21,000 Allstars and our 800 million guests, who continue to support us despite the challenges we’ve faced in recent years,” Tony added.

A mission to make air travel in ASEAN more affordable

AirAsia kicked off in 2001 when Tony Fernandes and Kamarudin Meranun took over a struggling airline with just 2 planes and 200 employees.

They turned it into the 4th largest airline in Asia, with over 200 aircraft and 21,000 staff across Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, the Philippines, Cambodia, and more.

“With a mission to make air travel in ASEAN more affordable, inclusive, and accessible, AirAsia is leading the charge in boosting connectivity and reviving tourism in the region.”
