As the F&B business is a highly competitive one, restaurants often look for innovative ways to gain the edge over their competitors.
This could be by having cool methods while preparing food, including unique ingredients into your food, an organised system for delivery riders or simply via smart and funny marketing approaches.
Recently, a warung in Melaka went viral for introducing a self ordering kiosk to help streamline orders. The self ordering kiosk is one we’d be familiar with using at fast food chains and probably not at simple warungs.
In a TikTok video shared by Warong Kopi Manggis Road, they showed off their brand new self ordering kiosk.
The caption reads, “The self ordering kiosk is done setting up. It is based on the feedback and encouragements of you all. We hope it brings about a benefit for us all.”
In the video, we can see a long line of people queuing up to order from the self ordering kiosk. Their menu is available on the kiosk and even includes pictures of the food!
An inspiration to other warungs
The video has gone viral on TikTok and currently sits on over 587,300 views. Plenty of netizens took to the comments section to praise the warung for investing in their business.
“A warung like no other warung. Becoming an inspiration to us. Congrats boss.”
“Self ordering kiosk are very expensive. Hopefully the owner (of the warung) gets more customers because of the kiosk,” commented another user.
Meanwhile, others suggested for the warung to have more kiosks to help reduce the ordering time of customers. This is because it appears that it has caused a longer waiting time for customers.
