Samous Chan, the Malaysian pork seller who went viral for dancing to Blackpink’s Pink Venom last year recently revealed how much he earned from 2 song productions earlier.

In a receipt posted on his Facebook, Samous revealed that he earned a total of RM905.15 from two song productions: a CNY song released earlier this year titled ‘Dragon Fire Ong Ong 2024,’ and his single ‘Comedian,’ which was released last year.

The pork seller-turned-celebrity also revealed the costs that were involved in both productions, which may be more than what you expect.

“The CNY song cost RM38,000 to produce, and my single cost RM3,500. The stated production costs are not inclusive of the writing of lyrics,” Samous explained.

Samous shared his earnings in response to netizens’ assumptions about how much a celebrity earns from song productions, and said, “It’s really not as much as you guys think.”

Despite earning less than 4 figures for 2 songs, Samous is not complaining at all and in fact, he enjoyed the process and what he’s doing.

“I have no regrets. I was doing it for fun and it’s part of my interests.”

Apart from music productions, Samous also received an acting role sometime last year. Despite his fame, he is still active in his roasted pork business.

You can watch the video below and relive the hype when his rendition of Pink Venom went viral.
