Earlier today, a video of a Malaysian GrabCar driver cursing two tourists from China blew up on social media.

In the one-minute video, the driver kept cursing at the Chinese tourists in Malay (language) and made fun of their origin and attire. Since the tourists couldn’t understand what he was saying, they just smiled and waved at the camera innocently.

He said, “Today I’ve got two passengers who are tourists from China.”

Then he turned to them and asked, “China? Which part of China? Shanghai?”

The tourists responded by saying “Liao Ning, from northeast of the county”, but the driver couldn’t comprehend it and proceeded to make fun of their pronunciation anyway.

After asking them to say ‘Hi’ to the camera, he said, “These two idiots wearing striped shirts look like zebras, I just feel like punching them in the heads. It’s so much fun getting passengers from China.”

He even said, “Five years celebrating Grab, we have some stupid passengers from China like them.”

The passengers were smiling throughout the video as they didn’t know the driver was cursing them. Ignorance is bliss I guess…

Here’s the full video:

As expected, after this footage went viral on Facebook, Malaysians started slamming him for his atrocious behaviour.

“He thinks he’s making fun of the passengers. But the truth is, he’s only making himself look bad,” a Facebook user said.

“Soon he will be asking for forgiveness from Malaysians, saying he’s not mentally sound. Now that the whole Malaysia has seen his ugly personality, he should not go back to his hometown to avoid bringing embarrassment to his family,” another user commented.

Update: Shortly after this video went viral, Grab has immediately removed this driver from their system, as such behaviour is not condoned nor tolerated by Grab.

Well, not only has he tarnished his own image, he has also ruined the reputation of Malaysians if this video manages to reach China.
