A convoy of about 20 vehicles was seen entering Istana Negara today, while being escorted by traffic police.
According to The New Straits Times, it cannot be confirmed if the convoy comprised political delegates led by Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, into the palace. Instead of entering the palace via the main gate, the Proton Perdana and Toyota Alphard vehicles entered the palace grounds through another entrance.
The media has gathered that Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad is expected to seek an audience with the Yang-diPertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billal Shah over new political developments in Malaysia.
The King, who was at Kota Permai in Shah Alam to attend a golf match earlier today was seen arriving at the palace just an hour before the convoy via helicopter.
We are still unclear on the purpose of this visit, but signs are increasingly showing that there may be a new coalition government that will include sections of PH along with Umno, PAS and Gabungan Parti Sarawak from the Opposition. Stay tuned!
