UK’s Foreign Minister and First Secretary of State Dominic Raab took to Twitter, thanking Malaysia for the delivery of 200 tonnes of gloves to the NHS.

The thank-you note arrived as a passenger plane with “Thank You NHS” written on its fuselage, at Bournemouth Airport; bringing in 10 million pairs of surgical gloves from Kuala Lumpur.

According to reports, the boxes of gloves will be sent to NHS Supplier Crest Medical based in Warrington.

In his thank you message, here is what Dominic Raab has to say.

Being the largest producer of rubber gloves, the move to keep NHS staff safe from Covid-19 came after public criticism to the UK government for failure to provide sufficient personal protective equipment (PPE) to them, leaving doctors and nurses to cobble together their own protective kits.

Using a passenger plane to deliver the gloves, images of boxes being strapped to seats were shared by various news publications in the UK.

As the UK government rush to protect frontliners in the UK heightens, reports suggest that several more flights are scheduled in the next few weeks to bring in PPE from all corners of the globe.

Let’s pray that our friends in the UK and others all around the world, will be able to survive this global pandemic together.
