Remember the hideous Visit Malaysia 2020 logo revealed to the public early January 2018 by former Tourism Minister Datuk Seri Nazri Aziz? Hint: Orangutan wearing sunglasses.

Bearing the tagline “Travel. Enjoy. Respect”, the logo was heavily criticized by everyone although Nazri tried to defend it by saying they had their best in-house design team to come up with the logo!

Fortunately, the Tourism Ministry has made an announcement that in conjunction with the VM2020 campaign, there will be a campaign logo competition organised to all Malaysians aged 18 years old and above.

The submission for the competition will begin on 11 March and ends on 24 March. The winner will take home RM3,000 on top of some bragging rights.

Tourism Minister Datuk Mohamaddin Ketapi told MalayMail that each participant is allowed to send in one entry only. He elaborated that,

“In addition, each entry must include logo design and the rationale highlighting the diversity of exciting ecotourism products of Malaysia. The designs need to use English words as it involves international market while the rationale could be presented in Malay and English.”

The Tourism Ministry will announce the list of winners on 12 April. For the contest forms and more information regarding the matter, you can visit www.tourism.gov.my and www.motac.gov.my.

So what are you waiting for guys! Grab this opportunity to share that creative side of yours and you might win some cash too.
