The recent floods have affected many states across Malaysia, forcing people to evacuate their homes.

While many have found ways to make the best of a tough situation, a particular dad stood out as he was seen braving the floods just so his son wouldn’t go hungry.

The water level had risen to chest height

@misshaa1 shared a heartwarming video on TikTok that quickly caught the attention of many netizens, showing the incredible sacrifice her husband made for their son during the recent floods.

The caption of the post says,

“The baby’s milk and diapers were all gone, the stores were closed, and on my way home, the water level had risen to chest height.”

Speaking to WORLD OF BUZZ, she explained how, on Wednesday (November 27) in Terengganu, she attended her son’s school event and had already packed her child’s milk and diapers beforehand.

She also shared that their son is just a year and 10 months old.

Their child’s milk ran out on the 3rd night

When Misshaa was on her way home from the school event, she encountered a flood that blocked her path.

She went on to share how she and her husband decided to take shelter at his workplace, where they stayed for 3 days.

By the 3rd night, her son’s milk had run out, and with all the shops closed because of the flood, they couldn’t buy more.

“The next morning, we decided to head back to see if the water near our house had receded, but unfortunately, it was still too high to get through,” she explained.

A father’s love and sacrifice

Misshaa then shared how her husband reassured her everything would be fine and offered to walk through the floodwaters to get milk, especially since their son was crying from hunger.

“I was worried because even if we asked for help, it wouldn’t come that quickly, and we had no milk left. But my husband told me it was fine, and he’d go try to make it through the water.”

She ended the story by saying,

“A father’s love and sacrifice can’t be bought. Always appreciate your husband and dad.”

“This is the scariest thing when there’s a flood and a small child. Worried about running out of milk and diapers. Can’t stock up too much, as the salary is just enough for basic needs.”

“Poor thing, can’t get any help with milk and diapers for the child. Please, anyone who can, go down to help flood victims. I cried watching this.”

“Why not ask for help from Civil Defence Force or the fire department? It’s dangerous to walk through such deep water. The current is strong, and we can’t predict it. I hope you and your husband stay safe.”
