An issue which has recently been on the rise is the problem with parking public spots and people misusing them for their very own personal interests.

It is not uncommon to see houses building structures on public parking spots as well as restaurants taking the spots to put chairs and tables for their customers to use.

In a post which has since gone viral, a restaurant underneath a flat unit in Chow Kit, KL, was spotted putting up chairs and tables for customers on multiple public parking spots.

The restaurant had even put up chairs and tables behind a car which was parked in what they claimed to be their spot.

The incident is said to have happened at a famous restaurant in Chow Kit which is known for their sambal hijau.

So inconsiderate

A post on the issue has since gone viral on social media. Netizens criticised the shop for being inconsiderate and for taking up public facilities for their own interest.

“If you know that it’s a public parking spot, why would you extend the tent of your restaurant. Do you think that this is the Sims where you can just expand and block people’s car? Pathetic.”

“I don’t understand people like these. Want to do business but you take the right of others,” said a user.

Another user commented, “Want to do business but cause an inconvenience to others, all of the parking spots you want to take.”
