Whenever you’re searching for a property either to rent or buy, your search will normally lead you to dedicated property-based websites such as Mudah, iProperty, or PropertyGuru, but it seems that you can now even buy houses on Shopee.

In a listing that has gone viral, a single-story terrace house in Kluang, Johor was advertised as being sold through Shopee for RM250,000.

The advertisement also includes pictures showing the interior and exterior of the house as well as basic details about the house including the fact that it has 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and comes complete with lighting and fans amongst other details.

What’s interesting, is that the homeowner has allowed for the use of SPayLater, where buyers can buy now and pay later through several methods. However, we’re not sure how exactly this would work as SPayLater often has a limit that is in no way close to the cost of the house.

Another interesting thing is that there’s also a shipping fee amounting to over RM200. Although, again, we’re not sure what exactly this is for.

A new way of buying property?

Although this listing in particular has garnered attention online, it seems that the practice isn’t exactly new as we noticed that there are also other listings for houses all over Malaysia.

Besides listings for containers and cabins, we found 2 listings for wooden houses which cost RM70K and RM56K.

We also discovered a listing for a single-story terrace house in Ulu Tiram being sold for RM455K.

For those looking for a place to either buy or rent, perhaps you can now also try searching on Shopee?
