Earlier today, we reported about the drama surrounding 87-year-old former Sarawak Yang di-Pertua Negeri, Tun Abdul Taib Mahmud and his family, or more specifically his younger Syrian second wife, Toh Puan Raghad Kurdi Taib, as well as his alleged wealth that surpasses Robert Kuok, Malaysia’s alleged richest man.
Now, more incidences have come to light, this time regarding Tun Abdul Taib’s stepson, Nizar Taib; who his wife, Raghad, had from a previous marriage.
The Annoyed Malaysian Twitter page recently shared a video from Sarawak Report’s YouTube channel, which showcases Nizar Taib’s TikTok video of him eating a burger and then wiping his face with a wad of money! And mind you, the money appeared to be in Euros.
Annoyed Malaysian wrote, “Reminder that Taib Mahmud’s ‘Bumiputera Melanau’ stepson (Raghad’s son) at a burger on TikTok and wiped his mouth obnoxiously with cash that probably belongs to the people of Sarawak.”
But, it’s not just the burger and cash incident.
Not only has this become the focus of Malaysian social media users, but also the fact that Nizar Taib not only received citizenship but also Bumiputera status (rather quickly, we might add) despite countless Malaysians still being stateless.
In another TikTok video showcased on Sarawak Report’s YouTube channel, Nizar Taib can be seen teasing his Malaysian Identity Card (IC) when a netizen asked if he really had one.
“Are you talking about this? Can’t show it, like I have to hide it or else people will get mad,” he said and laughed.
In a second video about his citizenship, Nizar Taib even rudely defended himself after someone pointed out that he wouldn’t have gotten his Malaysian citizenship if he wasn’t the then-Sarawak Yang di-Pertua Negeri’s stepson and a VVIP at that.
“That’s exactly it, you know. If this, if that. If, you know. If you weren’t f*cking born, we wouldn’t have had this f*cking conversation. If,” he said.
It’s safe to say that Malaysians are pissed off
“Even though I am not Sarawakian, this hurts my heart. I’m thinking of all the school children who have to endure jungles, swamps and mud.”
“Yes, that’s exactly how I feel. It hurts my heart to see this.”
“Meanwhile, Sarawakian kids have to reject University offers from the Peninsular because they don’t have money.”
