Raub Residents Kantoi After Officers Find Their Electricity Bill Amongst Illegally Dumped Garbage

Authorities managed to track down the culprits behind a pile of garbage after they found a discarded electricity bill amongst the rubbish dumped in Raub.

According to China Press, officers from the Raub Solid Waste and Sanitation Management Agency were patrolling the area on 24 December when they found a pile of household garbage that was discarded in an open space near Taman Amalina Perdana.

When questioned, the director of the agency said that the area is an illegal dumping site. He said that previously, the same area had been cleaned and a banner was erected, warning the public that it is prohibited to dump their garbage there.

However, there were still some stubborn residents who continued to dispose of their garbage in the area. Subsequently, law enforcement officers launched an investigation and managed to find an electricity bill amongst the garbage which led them to the culprits themselves.

“The electricity bill is evidence. Following the address, law enforcement officers found the residents living in Simpang Kalang who did not deny that it was them.”

“The officers sent a warning letter to clean up the garbage in the open space within 14 days or action will be taken against them,” he said, adding that the resident managed to clean up the garbage within two days.

He also said that he hopes this incident will alert other residents to stop littering.

Disposing of your rubbish in allocated areas is not that difficult. We can all play our part in keeping the environment clean, for ourselves, others and the other living creatures around us.
