Festive seasons are a time for heritage and traditions. But, traditions can also be modernised!

That’s what happened at Sydney, Australia, where they decided to take lion dances in conjunction with Chinese New Year to a whole new level.

Hong Kong blogger, 六個小孩的媽媽 Six Kids Mama, took to her Facebook page to showcase a high flying water jet pack lion dance that took place at Darling Harbour, Sydney, and it looks amazing!

She wrote, “Found this lion dance flying on the ocean.”

In her video, two lion dancers can be seen using water jet packs (the flyboard thing you’d find at Putrajaya) and beautifully lit up costumes for their performance and while flying in the air, they can still bat their lion eyelashes and wow the large crowd that they’ve gathered at the location. Though, it must have been difficult for the lions to stand on their hind legs for that long!

The dancers surely took a lot of time and effort to train for the unique performance.
