PDRM on The Hunt for M’sian Man Seen Trying to Film Under Woman’s Dress at a Supermarket in Selangor

The police are actively investigating the case and working to track down a man who was seen harassing a local woman at a supermarket in Jenjarom.

In a statement shared on Facebook, the Kuala Langat District Police confirmed they received a report from the victim, a local woman, on December 9.

The man attempted to record under her dress

According to the report, while the victim was at a supermarket, she noticed a local man was attempting to secretly record under her dress.

“On December 16, 2024, the Kuala Langat District Police Headquarters came across a Facebook post about the sexual harassment incident that supposedly happened in the Jenjarom area,” the statement read.

CCTV footage, which has been circulating online, backed up her story, showing the suspect holding his phone and lifting her dress to try and film her.

Efforts to track down the suspect are ongoing

In response, an investigation paper has been opened under Section 509 of the Penal Code, which carries a maximum sentence of 5 years imprisonment, a fine, or both upon conviction.

Additionally, the case falls under Section 14 of the Minor Offenses Act, which provides for a fine not exceeding RM100 or imprisonment if convicted.

The police are also asking the public not to speculate about the case, as it could interfere with the investigation. If anyone has information, they’re urged to head to the nearest police station or call the Kuala Langat District Police Headquarters Operations Room at 03-31872222.
