Previously, it was reported that a bomb exploded in the parking lot of a commercial area in Nilai, Negeri Sembilan, at approximately 6 AM on Monday (22 December). The shocking incident led the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) to discover several explosives, including a second bomb, which the authorities detonated safely.
Following this, PDRM launched a manhunt for a 62-year-old Malaysian man, believed to have technical knowledge and specific skills in making explosives, suspected of being involved in this incident. The suspect has since been successfully apprehended.

Now, PDRM is revealing further details from their investigations into this case.
No signs of extremism or criminal groups
According to a report by Berita RTM, investigations have so far shown no elements of extremism. Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department Director, Datuk M. Kumar, shared that the explosion was likely isolated and not linked to any criminal network or organised groups.

“So far, it is likely to be an isolated incident and not linked to any groups. At present, it is not linked to any groups or organisations. However, the police are conducting serious investigations to uncover the truth,” he said.
Investigations will now focus on the purpose of storing explosive materials, targets that may have been involved, as well as the possibility of other parties being involved.
The suspect’s statement has yet to be recorded
The suspect’s background is still being investigated, though the process of recording his statement has yet to be carried out due to the suspect receiving treatment at a hospital.
Prior to this, the suspect was arrested in Nilai in a weak condition with burn injuries after he was believed to have been hiding in the forest area since the explosion.
This case is being investigated according to several legal provisions, including the Penal Code and the Corrosive and Explosive Substances and Offensive Weapons Act 1958; hence, the police ask that the public not make any speculation that could affect the investigation.
