The Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) arrested a Malaysian man suspected of killing an elderly woman in Port Dickson earlier this month.
The victim, a 67-year-old woman was found unconscious in a room in a house at Batu 8 Jalan Pantai Teluk Kemang on 9 May 2023 before she was pronounced dead by a medical assistant from the Port Dickson Hospital.
In a statement, Port Dickson District Police Chief Supt Aidi Sham Mohamed said that the 45-year-old man was arrested at a house in Kuala Klawang, Jelebu on 16 May 2023 at around 12.05am.
Supt Aidi Sham further elaborated that the motive for the man’s murder is unrequited love. Police also confiscated a mobile phone during the arrest.
Following the arrest, PDRM has reclassified the investigation paper from sudden death to Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.
Moreover, the Negeri Sembilan Deputy Public Prosecutor’s director also ordered the man to be charged under Section 411 of the Penal Code following the latest findings.
The Port Dickson District Police Chief confirmed that the suspect would be charged at the Port Dickson Magistrate’s Court today.
